I’ve written FileMaker scripts with a baby sleeping in the bed next to my laptop.
I’ve tested FileMaker layouts at midnight, after the house was quiet.
I’ve fixed FileMaker logic errors while fixing snacks.
And I’ve done all this not despite being a mother — but because of it.
Motherhood teaches you to manage chaos with love.
To improvise, adapt, and build systems — even without documentation.
(It’s basically advanced-level FileMaker.)
But let’s say this clearly, too:
Not all mothers are mothers in the usual sense.
I wasn’t, at first.
I was a stepmother before I became a mother.
And long before that, I was already taking care, already creating space, already learning how to show up.
So today, as we celebrate mothers in all their forms —
I also celebrate those who build:
apps, businesses, balance, communities.
And what better moment to announce that the Naples FileMaker Week 2025 is ready to launch?
We’ve mapped the Ports.
We’ve charted the route.
We’re opening registration soon — and if there’s one thing mothers know well, it’s timing.
This year’s Week is not just for developers.
It’s also for those who design workflows and raise humans.
Also for those who ship projects and pack school lunches.
Also for those who lead teams and tuck in bedtime stories.
Also for those who step in, even when it wasn’t expected of them.
Because complexity is not just technical — it’s life.
And we navigate it every day.
Let’s bring all of it to Naples.
I’ll be waiting at the helm.
