Your Two-Day Expedition

This is not an unconference. It’s a plotted course through the real challenges of FileMaker today—where Claris Studio meets FileMaker Pro, Claris Connect handles the currents, APIs and Artificial intelligence complicate the wind, and modern web expectations rock the boat.

Over two days, you’ll navigate tactical sessions (Ports), deep collective moments (Plenaries), and a few unexpected storms. A FileMaker event, unique in Europe.
We talk architecture, automation, UX, logic, people—and how to build systems that don’t sink.

Each moment is intentional. No panels with no point, no open mic chaos. Just sharp minds, clear formats, and a crew that believes complexity deserves better.

And yes, there’s a lot of food, italian style, of course. With bugs. And awards. You’ll see.

THURSDAY — Day of Tactical Navigation

Morning – Automating Workflows

This is where the journey begins. In a hyperconnected world, no FileMaker solution can afford to be an isolated island. Whether you’re working with Claris Studio, Claris Connect, web apps, or custom APIs—workflow is no longer about the “how”, but the “why”. Low-code orchestration, integration-first thinking, and how to build systems that actually work together: real examples, short formats, zero ceremony.

FileMaker is not alone—and neither are you.

Afternoon – Human & Data Complexity

The calm is over. After a provocative plenary, we dive into the heart of modern chaos: JSON jungles, unexpected user behavior, AI hallucinations, and workflows that collapse at scale.
These Ports are not just technical—they’re messy, tangled, and dangerously real.

We’ll dissect complex data structures, simulate mistakes, and rethink how we validate what we think we know. It’s FileMaker with its mask off.
Bring logic. And maybe a debugger.

Evening – Tales & Troubles

This isn’t a dinner. It’s the last Port of the day—and maybe the most memorable.
Captain Bug & Story Night is where the real lessons emerge: late-night regrets, brilliant mistakes, half-solutions that somehow worked. With apericena, yes—but also a stage, a mic, and a room full of developers who know the pain.

We’re not just giggling over drinks (ok, a bit of that too). We’re completing the day.
Because complexity doesn’t stop at 6pm—and neither do we.

FRIDAY — Depths of Decision

Morning – Long-Term Architecture

Day two opens with a double plenary: bold, disruptive, and exactly what your backlog fears.

Then come the Deep Ports—longer dives into architectural strategy, sustainable systems, product thinking, and (of course) people.

Because any FileMaker solution that lasts must survive users, turnover, legacy code, and the future you didn’t plan for.

Forget best practices. This is where we ask: what makes a system truly endure?

Afternoon – Navigating Critical Decisions

Build or buy? Tech-first or user-first? Standardize or customize?
The final Ports focus on what truly shapes a project: the decisions. Some strategic, some instinctive, all with long tails.
It’s not about the right answer—it’s about knowing what’s at stake.
One last plenary helps us draw the line between vision and delusion.

Bring your doubts. You’ll need them.

Evening – Duel & Reward

The ship changes course for the final night. It’s time for FileMaker Fight Club: five-minute lightning debates on real-world dilemmas. Fast, sharp, and not always polite.
Then: the Compass Awards. A celebration of the unexpected insights, fearless questions, and perfectly timed chaos that made the voyage unforgettable.

This is not the end. It’s the part that stays with you.

You’ve seen the route. Now let’s talk about the sea: the Ports, the crew, and what makes this voyage worth joining

Voices of the Sea

Experts, pirates, provocateurs. You’ll hear from those who dare navigate complexity.

Who Dares to Speak at the Helm?

They’ve crossed stormy seas of complexity, navigated through tangled code and legacy reefs, and returned with treasure maps made of insight. These are not just speakers — they are the fearless captains, cunning quartermasters, and visionary navigators of the FileMaker world.

Step aboard and meet the crew who will guide your expedition through two days of discovery, rebellion, and real-world tactics.

The helm is theirs. For now.

Inside the Expedition

port-filemaker-week

What is a Port?

Short, focused, and repeated. A Port is a 20-min FileMaker expedition into real problems—no fluff, just fast insight. Everyone sails through all of them.

plenary-filemaker-week

What is a Plenary?

Shared moments with one or more speakers, designed to provoke, clarify, and sometimes cause mutiny. Never boring. Never polite.

Tales & Troubles

Think stories, bugs, and applause. Apericena and laugh therapy. You bring the bug, we bring the rum (not really).

The Co-Host Fleet

No expedition sails alone. Behind every great journey, there’s a fleet of trusted allies — experts who’ve mapped hidden bays, tested the winds, and offered safe harbors when storms hit hard.

These are our co-hosts: the seasoned navigators, local guides, and proud captains of their own ships. They don’t just support this voyage — they make it possible.

Raise a toast to the fleet. They keep the compass steady.
