I began my journey in the lands of FileMaker a long time ago. It was in the late nineties of the old time, the 20th century, where the internet had just begun to connect and change the ancient non-digital world. Back then I was working in a social housing organisation in Belgium, where they had a FileMaker app in place. With a Master degree in Sociology, I had no previous IT experience. But I was keen to improve the FileMaker solution to make it more fit the actual workflows. I pioneered my way through some courses I lend from my brother Joris, who was a trainer and developer already. In 2005 Joris and I decided to bundle forces and start a company where we could do what we loved best, developing FileMaker apps. Besides Filemaker, I discovered a whole range of other artifcacts, such as PHP, Javascript. I even acquired proficiency in XSLT, a skill which has always been rare to find. Today my main focus in the technical field revolves around general solution architecture, server management and monitoring, AWS and API integration.
